Can anyone in this group pick up some copies for our meeting tomorrow from Julie's house? She's coming down with a cold and can't come. She's at Oswego and Fessenden.

Chuck, did you get my email with the Montavilla handbook attached? I can't remember when I sent it now. Folks, I'm scheduling time in the second half of the meeting for some Vendor biz. We have one new vendor and need to mingle with the Logistics ...

Also, if you can come to our meeting tonight (this is to all, including Chuck) or possibly meet this weekend, we can get things squared away in preparation for Gentiana's departure. Sigh. I am working this weekend, but could squeeze something in ...

Welcome back Chuck! Bring some sunshine up with you? We really need someone to take on the task of getting our vendor handbook together. We have an example from the Montavilla Market, and you could possibly ask other committee people to help, but...

Hi everybody! We need to meet again to determine a final selection of vendors and take a look at a vendor handbook. How does tomorrow night or Wednesday night look to you?

Yeah Chuck, great job! I didn't know you had volunteered to do that. Did you talk with anyone at Baird Family Orchards? Or Gentiana? ?

I could handle trekking all the way to Kenton. No other suggestions, since I don't want anyone to feel obligated to purchase food or drink from a restaurant. You want to ask him? Other suggestions group?

Good to hear you and Jason are applying, and Food Works too. That is a good point, about conflict of interest. With at least five of us, not counting you, who I think can meet this Sunday (?), perhaps we could ask you to be "on call" for your advi...

and i'm sure you've seen this list of duties from OR Farmers' Market Association: http://www.oregonfarmersmarkets.org/mktman.html

thanks!

Hi Simone,

i have a general Hold Harmless Agreement i can email you if you'd like. The library has a database of legal forms, and that's where i got it. I can send it to you as a Word doc or as an RTF. just let me know which you'd like...and let me know what email address to send it to. thanks!

Hi Simone,
I may have missed your email, but I'm happy to consider being the chair. I've been out of town for work and am in the middle of hiring a farm manager and all of our youth for the upcoming season so I've been a bit busy. I'll be at the meeting this Thursday and can get caught up then. Will that work? Thanks!

Hi Simone,
Mike's email is mikeverbout@cheerful.com. He said to write him and ask to be added to the gathering list... He mentioned that the next one is scheduled for March 3rd at the New Columbia Community Education Center on Trenton St. I didn't catch the time.

Hi Simone,
I posted the job description draft on the vendor relations page. Can I email the document directly to you? Let me know how to do that and I can send it on. Also, I'm happy to make the final changes when I get input back before sending it along. Just let me know.
Thanks again. Amber.

Hey Simone, just emailed you the info for prices that other local farmer's markets are charging. I am not going to make it tonight. Hope this helps.

Hi Simone,
I'm the person to talk to about getting Food Works at the market. There is very strong interest, and I am needing to look at our staffing budget and some other details to see if we can add the additional market (we really want to!). Also, if the market is on Sunday, at this point we wouldn't be able to do it so that will affect our decision as well (there is no way our staff/youth will work on Sunday right now).

I will be at the meeting this evening, and will hopefully have some Village Gardens community members with me this time too.

Thanks!
Amber

Hi Simone, Thanks for folding me in so quickly to the process. I am excited to get our folks involved again with the planning. For the grant, we usually collect letters of support from community groups that we work with... is that what you are looking for? I can imagine that we could outline potential ways that the St. Johns Market would partner with Village Gardens and the Food Works youth... generally I'm thinking it would be something like, support the youth to have a stand at the market, possibly have opportunities for Village Gardens community leaders to help with education about healthy food and gardening, support Village Gardens community leaders to participate in planning and implementing the market via the board and committees, create a space to build bridges between different parts of the St. Johns community etc. I will need to run this by my director who is involved when we create new partnerships as an organization, but we are excited to be involved and would definitely submit a letter of support to include in the grant application.

For more information about our programs check out our website at: http://www.janusyouth.org/what-we-do/urban-agriculture-services.php

There was also a recent video done about the Food Works program at: http://cookingupastory.com/show/food-works/

Food Works is also still on the cover of the current Edible Portland at:
http://edibleportland.com/content/

Hope that helps. Please let me know about getting a letter of support to you and I will work with my director to get that drafted up. Let us know if there is a certain focus of the grant so we can write it to the criteria.

Thanks again,
Amber
